Markem’s SmartDate 5 thermal transfer coder can be used in either intermittent or continuous mode, with minimal adjustment and without change parts.

Customers can choose between a standard GUI and a portable SmartTouch fullcolour touch-screen option. According to Markem, SmartDate 5 also has faster processing power than its predecessors, meaning faster data transfer. It also interacts with other online devices and external databases so that random weight coding and addressing applications can be carried out at production line speeds.

For very fast continuous applications there is also the SmartDate 5S, which uses advanced ‘shuttle’ technology to achieve high print speeds and acceleration profiles.
