On-quay storage facilities enhanced October 1st 2005 Collinson has supplied and erected a BestHall Tension Membrane building for Martin Butterly at its Drogheda Port site, to increase on-quay storage, improve efficiency and reduce logistical problems.
The Drogheda site is equipped to handle a wide range of cargoes - from fertiliser to steel and timber.
However, storage remote from the quay was causing some significant logistics issues, so the decision was made to increase the facilities available at the berth.
A Collinson Besthall building was chosen for two main reasons: the favourable price and the re-locatable design of the structure.
The new building is 100m by 22m by 7m high, giving 2200m3 of covered storage, which can accommodate up to 10,000 tonnes steel.
Erection was completed in less than five weeks, by Collinson’s five man team, onto a ready prepared asphalt base. More articles from Collinson plc: |
