Port salutes Hi-Lo’s FEM racking February 1st 2005 Racking and shelving manufacturer Hi-Lo Storage Systems has completed the second phase of a major contract to provide the Port of Tyne Authority with 10,000 additional pallet locations.
CSE Space Management awarded the contract to Hi- Lo because it is the only UK manufacturer of heavy duty FEM-compliant racking.
From CSE’s original designs and specifications, Hi-Lo suggested its Premierack system, which stands at 110m long with 12m high racks.
Together with with phase one, the Port of Tyne Authority is now able to accommodate a total of 20,000 pallet locations.
The Premierack system’s key features include reversible uprights with 50mm slots which are available in a variety of gauges. Beams are available in open, box or stepped form for greater adjustability, and the stiffening ribs and rolled edges of the five hook connector offer increased stability and safety.
