Get motoring with Link shelves
July 6th 2005

A Link 51 two-tier shelving installation at a new £1m vehicle aftercare centre in Surrey is now complete.

The 23,000 ft2 converted warehouse in Byfleet is the centre for the Lance Owen organisation in the area.

Link 51’s Euro-shelving system features in the majority of the installation with Longspan shelving specified at specific points.

The result sees more than 3 km of shelving space created alongside a number of specialist bays – created directly by the Link 51 design – accommodating products such as body panels, bumper units, exhaust pipes and tyres.

In total, the facility occupies 5,000 ft2 of floor space with the same amount correspondingly created on the second level. Fifteen picking faces have been incorporated throughout with the shelving areas providing between three and five levels per bay. Access is via four stair-wells on to a mesh steel flooring – also part of the Link 51 installation – while the layout also accommodates existing pipework at roof height.

13,000 individual lines can now be stocked and readily accessed at the facility.
