Hanging garment storage system
June 1st 2006

Having won the contract to handle all Prominent Apparel's storage and distribution, Amethyst Group chose Stockrail International to supply and install a new hanging garment storage facility at its Fradley Park site.

Stockrail's brief was to supply a new hanging garment storage system in an area over the main loading docks. In order to achieve this a 1600m2 mezzanine floor was constructed to span the area.

On top of the mezzanine the main storage system was built from Stockrail's Diamond Rack racking system. The system was designed as a two-tiered storage system at a height of 6.2m with an open steel deck constructed for the walkways.

The system has a storage capacity of 400,000 units but has been designed to potentially store an additional 200,000, allowing future expansion.

The whole system is serviced by Stockrail's new HangerGlide manual overhead hanging garment transport system.
