Opportunities in hygiene February 1st 2005 According to Bedford and Soar, the market for hygienic products offers interesting opportunities for distributors.
The latest generation of its Quartermaster system (which uses a ringed post and wire shelf decking supported by an open channel) is to incorporate an effective antibacterial agent into the shelf coating.
The finish is applied to a prepared steel shelf by a hot dip process to provide a 275 +micron encapsulation, very much thicker than paint finishes. This Nylon 11 based coating, says the company, is smooth but tough, with good wear characteristics and corrosion and chemical resistance – so is fully washable, and can even be steam cleaned. Also, because the silver-based anti-bacterial agent is fixed evenly through the coating it doesn’t migrate over time or when washed. More articles from Bedford & Soar Ltd: |
