Racking upright protectors

Following extensive trials, Nisa-Today's has employed Just Barriers to supply and install Rackdefender upright protectors for every rack upright at its new NDC in Scunthorp.

An innovative, flexible protector that fits around the upright, the Rackdefender is manufactured from a rubber compound and is designed specifically for impact dispersal and absorption.

The Rackdefender features a distinctive resettable impact warning strip to prompt inspection, which helps to eliminate the potential problem of hidden damage. This, combined with ease of inspection, makes the product a highly effective way to keep on top of racking damage, properly addressing health and safety issues associated with warehouse racking.

The intensity of picking operations and rapid inventory turnover means it is vital that Nisa Today's protects it pallet racking investment. Previous experience has shown that even uprights in the aisle are vulnerable to impact from picking and reach trucks.

"Until now nothing could offer the necessary performance and operational life costs to make it worthwhile to protect the uprights," comments Stephen Hunter, managing director of logistics at Nisa Today's.
