Speed and efficiency in seven days

Window profile manufacturer Fersina Systems has boosted speed and efficiency at its national distribution centre in South Yorkshire with cantilever racking from Pro-Dek Storage Systems.

The uPVC profiles were previously blocked-stacked in the warehouse, but this was inconvenient and difficult to organise. Pro-Dek designed the new racking to allow an existing sideloader to be used to handle stock while maximising storage volumes, so aisles are 2.5m wide and racking columns range from 4.5m high at the eaves to six metres at the apex of the roof. The tallest columns have seven storage positions.

The installation has 280 separate locations for the stillages, which are six metres long, one metre deep and 600mm high, with each one supported by four 1050mm arms which can be adjusted in 76mm increments.

Pro-Dek completed the entire job in seven days.
