Three new upright profiles
April 1st 2006

Serving a diverse customer base over 40 years, County Derry-based storage equipment manufacturer, Sperrin Metal Products has recently introduced three new upright profiles and bolted frame assembly to its pallet racking range. This is in addition to the welded frame, which can still be supplied as and when required.

"This is directly in line with our policy of exceeding customer requirements," said production director, Peter Gormley. "Our new pallet racking uprights are 100% compatible with our original upright but we can now achieve bay loads up to 25t using the new profiles. Our decision to introduce bolted frames has also been customer driven and offers more economical shipping and a reduced cost when making repairs to a damaged frame."

Thanks to a new, state-ofthe art powder painting facility, Sperrin achieves a high quality finish and offers one piece uprights and frames up to 7.5m high, so splicing is not required until this point - a major advantage over many other manufacturers' racking, which needs to be spliced at lower positions.

"We knew that splicing at less than 7.5m was a major headache for our customers, so when we replaced the painting facility we made sure that this was one of our key specification criteria," explains Gormley.

The company has also recruited a sales account manager, based in England, to enhance customer service and support.
