Crate containers create space April 11th 2008 Returnable packaging manufacturer Schoeller Arca Systems has introduced the new Ortus plastic container range to complement its existing foldable container products including Prelog and Magnum.
Schoeller Arca says when folded, the empty crates can make space savings of up to 70%, making them efficient to transport and store. Ortus is available in three sizes, and the company believes that the larger 600 x 400 x 180mm version will be popular with retailers transporting fresh fruit and vegetables. The perforated base and sides allow air circulation, and the case can be used for retail display.
The plastic construction is easy to clean and does not rust. It is stackable and features handles on all four sides. It is also compatible with conveyors, dollies and other warehouse equipment.
"Wasted transit space on return journeys costs companies thousands of pounds every year. By providing an efficient means of transportation, Ortus helps reduce these losses," says Russell Smith, business development manager.
