Vertical lift storage & retrieval
February 1st 2006 Automotive company, Optare Unitec, has installed the latest technology in vertical lift storage and retrieval units from SSI Schaefer at its spares division in Rotherham.
To achieve the most effective method of relocating and improving Optare's spares division, David Long, Schaefer's product manager, suggested installing the Pickomat along with shelving and pallet racking. This was agreed and within two weeks the project was completed.
Optare Unitec's Derek Searle, says: "The design of the Pickomat has ensured the best use of available space within our bus vehicle spares unit. The whole division has been sharpened and the operation now runs in a more sophisticated manner.
