Investment in ‘modified service’

09 March 2021

THE PAST 18 months have seen considerable investment in the service and maintenance department at Hörmann UK, in response to the increasing demand for fast and efficient service from warehouse and factory operators.

Part of this investment has been in the expansion of the modified service, with the ability to offer modifications to all types of Hörmann loading bay and industrial doors. Replacement panels and other key components can be supplied within a 24/48-hour period to ensure that doors can be repaired with little delay.

The majority of damage to industrial doors is usually confined to the bottom 2 or 3 panels. Therefore the replacement of the damaged panels represents a faster and more cost-effective solution than changing the complete door. Hörmann hold stock of a core range of raw panels which can be cut down to the exact door opening size – accessories such as end caps, bottom seals and viewing panels can be fitted as required. Replacement tracks, box sections and springs can also be supplied.

As an OEM, Hörmann doors have over 288 different spring variants. With spring lengths being held in stock, replacement springs to suit a specific door size and weight can be cut and bent, thus ensuring that the functionality and safety of the door is not compromised.

Door panels are available from stock in the 8 preferred Hörmann colours, with investment continuing in order to expand the stock holding of the most popular sprayed panels.

To ensure a truly rapid service, a photograph of a damaged door and its serial number can be sent to Hörmann and they can then prepare any panels and components required without the need of a site visit. A comprehensive record of all the doors supplied into the UK market over the past 40 years aids this process.

A dedicated modified production facility has been created at Hörmann UK’s Coalville facility, with investment in both machinery and personnel to cater for existing and future demand. This is a further indication of the company’s commitment to developing long term, close working relationships with their clients and end-users, and to develop tailor made solutions to help improve their business operations.
