16 December 2019
St. Modwen Industrial & Logistics has awarded Hörmann UK a contract worth £1 million to deliver, install and service loading bay solutions for 16 sites across the UK.
As part of St. Modwen Industrial & Logistics’ commitment to developing high quality, strategically located industrial and logistics spaces, Hörmann UK is providing its diverse product portfolio to help create sustainable units that will meet the demanding requirements of today’s industry.
The new partnership will see Hörmann UK supply 160 loading bay doors, 140 standard dock levellers, 20 double deck dock levellers, 140 standard dock shelters and 20 double deck dock shelters. This will be supported by Hörmann’s level access doors, dock bumpers, LED traffic lights and LED dock lights to provide occupiers with a complete loading system that is efficient, safe and secure.
With more and more logistic businesses incorporating a range of vehicle types into its fleet in order to sufficiently meet demand, St. Modwen Industrial & Logistics is specifying Hörmann UK’s innovative double deck dock levellers and dock shelters at seven of the sites.
These enable clients to transport goods in and out of the warehouse using larger double deck trucks, as well as standard sized heavy goods vehicles for optimum operational efficiency. For enhanced thermal performance, the double deck docks will also be fitted with secondary electric roller blind top flaps to provide an efficient seal on smaller vehicles when using the bay.
Richard Carter, senior director – construction for St. Modwen Industrial and Logistics’, said: “Our commercial development activity is focused on sites where we are well positioned to meet the needs of our customers. Working together with partners, we seek to create places and experiences that deliver shared value, building a lasting legacy while contributing to better futures for all.
“Our latest partnership with Hörmann UK is reflective of this dedication, supporting our continued growth throughout the UK as we increase our committed development pipeline of industrial and logistics developments to 1.5m sq. ft over the last year.”
Construction is already underway at many sites across the UK, including the 58 acre St. Modwen Park Gloucester and the 32 acre prime distribution centre, St. Modwen Park Tamworth.
Paul Tulley, key account manager for Hörmann UK, said: “We are extremely proud to have been chosen by St. Modwen Industrial & Logistics to support its continued growth strategy across the UK. As a business we are aligned with its commitment to providing occupiers with first class solutions that meet each of their individual needs and we look forward to a longstanding relationship for years to come.”
