Walkers Builders Merchants has saved
around £35,000 by switching to using
a FLSC Forklift Scale System from
Avery Weigh-Tronix and avoiding
overfilling.
Walkers sells bulk bags of a range
of aggregates. In order to fill a one
tonne bulk bag the merchant uses a
JCB Teletruck with Avery FLSC
Forklift scales and a Bagezee
attachment. This means there is now
no need to worry about the loss of
profit from over-filling, and no need
to worry about fines from Trading
Standards Weights and Measures for
under-filling.
First, the scales are set to tare with the bucket empty. The Teletruck then collects the aggregates from a pile in the yard and the weight is taken by the FLSC Forklift scales. Once the bucket is full, any excess is dropped out through the bottom trap doors.
