CI Logistics has been awarded a contract by Clipper Logistics Group, involving a considerable conveying installation.

The contract, which is worth over £2m, is to supply a garment handling and processing solution for Clipper's new portcentric logistics hub in Wynyard near Teesport. The centre, which represents a £40m investment by Clipper, is scheduled to be open by August this year.

CI Logistics has already established a proven track record for providing automatic handling and storage systems specifically designed for the garment industry. This bespoke solution for Clipper consists of garment racking, an overhead monorail transportation system and telescopic booms for unloading cartons from containers.

Gary Bale, managing director of CI Logistics, says: "We have a dedicated team with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the garment industry, this has proved to be a great asset in winning this valuable business. Our product offering includes both hanging and flat pack garment handling systems, conveyors, storage and mezzanine floors.
