ASDA to present at SEMA's annual safety conference

Key speakers at the November 1 event include a safety, health and environment manager from ASDA and a policy adviser from the HSE

SEMA, the Storage Equipment Manufacturers' Association is to hold its Annual Safety Conference on Thursday 1st November at the National Motorcycle Museum Solihull.

Key speakers include a policy adviser from the HSE (Legislation update on pedestrian segregation) and a safety, health and environment manager from retail giant, ASDA (Choosing a supplier on the basis of safety).

The full day event will feature a presentation by SEMA technical committee offering direction on inspecting shelving systems effectively and there will be legal guidance on how corporate manslaughter regulations are affecting stakeholders. The chairman of the SEMA distributor group will outline how the effective integration of the group formerly known as SHEDA into SEMA is deriving benefit to end users and the industry.

The event starts at 10am, includes a buffet lunch and costs £125 + VAT.

Event chairman and SEMA President John Halliday said: "SEMA continues to define storage industry standards. Our continuing relationship with statutory bodies and major stakeholders, for example retailers, illustrates the need to strive for safety standards. This event is a must for those specifying and utilising storage systems."
