The company has completed the installation of the latest LED technology in the cold store at its state-ofthe- art headquarters and processing centre at Charing, Kent.
The new lighting management system adjusts light levels automatically via sensors according to production and activity needs at any time across the cold store's mobile racking system. It is the first time the US-based Digital Lumens intelligent LED lighting system has been used in a mobile-racking environment in the UK and its introduction has seen consumption drop from 812,344 kWh a year to just 16,687 kWh according to Jon Barnes, Ardo supply chain & inventory director.
