Retailer Hat World boosts Omni-channel performance with Swisslog

State-of-the-art Omni-channel order fulfilment and storage system from Swisslog for Hat World.
Hat World, Inc. has commissioned Swisslog to install a state-of-the-art Omni-channel order fulfilment and storage system, at its central distribution centre in Indianapolis, IN. Swisslog will provide its AutoStore solution, which will be fully integrated into the existing facility by year-end 2014.
The LIDS Sports Group, operating within Hat World, Inc., is comprised of the LIDS retail headwear stores, the LIDS Locker Room specialty fan retail chain, the LIDS Clubhouse retail stores, the LIDS Team Sports wholesale team sports business and the Internet businesses, www.lids.com, www.lidslockerroom.com, www.lidsclubhouse.com, www.lidsteamsports.com, and www.lids.ca. The solution will increase storage capability and throughput within the existing facility, while supporting all of these distribution channels. The core part is comprised of storage for 100,000 SKUs served by robots with highly efficient goods-to-person pick functionality.
