New online training options for managers of forklift operations

05 November 2021

MENTOR FLT Training is now delivering its popular Managing Forklift Operations course via multiple online formats to allow managers to choose the learning method most suited to them.

Already available as face-to-face training, the course is now also being delivered in an e-learning format which allows delegates to learn at their own pace, whenever and wherever they choose, or via Microsoft Teams, which offers businesses the benefits of facilitated training via an online platform.

“We know from experience that managers can be extremely busy due to operational pressures and deadlines, so taking time away for classroom-based training isn’t always suitable,” explains Stuart Taylor, managing director at Mentor.

“Businesses with multiple sites also often struggle to arrange a central location for managers to attend. We’ve introduced online alternatives to overcome these challenges and help ensure that managers and supervisors can access the vital training they need to meet their responsibilities under Approved Code of Practice L117. They must understand the legal requirements and how to uphold safety on their sites and, with 99 percent of our e-learning delegates confirming that they’d acquired skills and knowledge they could apply in their roles, the initial feedback suggests that the course is certainly meeting its aims.

“And for those who favour a facilitated course, training via video conferencing retains the flexibility of online training while providing an experienced tutor to guide delegates through the course, generate discussions, offer support, answer questions, and encourage active engagement.”

Mentor’s new online courses not only offer a convenient solution, but a cost-effective one, too.

Stuart adds: “With our online options, managers company-wide can train to a consistent accredited standard, regardless of their location, and without the travel, accommodation and expense costs associated with off-site courses.”
